Vocal Department
The Vocal department consists of:
Classical voice development, Jazz, Ankor Choir, Young Ankor Choir
The Vocal department at the Conservatory trains male and female singers of all ages. In addition to individual studies, the department works in collaboration with the Ankor Choir and our teachers give voice development lessons to the choir members.
Award-winning students
A significant number of our students attain the prestigious status of Outstanding Musician in the IDF, while many others garner accolades from the America Israel Cultural Foundation.
Most of our students undertake the Ministry of Education's matriculation exam, which includes a recital and a research paper, and several of them choose to continue their studies at the Academy.
Ankor Choir
The Ankor Choir serves as the house choir of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and of Yad Vashem, and has recorded CDs of its works, in collaboration with the Philharmonic Orchestra.
The choir performs in Israel and abroad, in concerts, competitions and orchestral projects.

"Svetlana Bendikov - opera singer and expert voice development teacher. Participates in opera projects, appears as a soloist in recitals in Israel and around the world. Svetlana has appeared several times at the President's House before Mr. Shimon Peretz and Mr. Reuven Rivlin.
Svetlana is the recipient of the Israel Artists Union award in the field of singing by Ehud Menor, the recipient of the Minister of Aliyah and Absorption award for extraordinary contribution to society and the country by Yuri Stern, holder of a grant from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation.
Svetlana participates as a teacher in master classes and judges in international competitions in Israel and abroad. Her students sing in the Israeli opera and win prizes in international competitions."

Conductor and musical director of the Encore Choir:
Dafna Ben Yohanan
Dafna Ben Yohanan has been the conductor of the Encore Choir since 1990. Under her direction, the Encore Choir serves as the home choir of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and of Yad Vashem, where it performs for distinguished personalities from around the world.
Encore Choir has performed many times in Israel and abroad and has won prizes in international competitions. This is how she performed with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and its conductor Claudio Abbado and won first prize in a choral competition in Bulgaria and third place in the Choir Olympics held in Cincinnati, Ohio out of 46 youth choirs that participated."

Yael Cohen is a graduate of the Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem conducting a choir from 2021. She is currently the director and conductor of the Young Encore Choir and the Mitari Hillel Choir. In addition, she is a soprano in the Alma Ensemble - Israeli Female Voice.
Yael has been involved in education since her military service as a tutor in the Air Force. During her academic studies, she won the Dean of Students Award for her significant work as an educator. Today she teaches musical theory and solfege, and works with children and youth in various musical settings."
